“Friends dont let Friends Drive Drunk” But but do Friends let Friends drive High?

Sober Girls Designated Drivers Vancouver’ wants to discuss some impacts of being high and driving. I think any substance that is mind altering can have an effect on drivers decisions. In the late 1980’s, the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Ad Council developed public service announcements that used the phrase “friends don’t let friends drive drunk” and this is where the slogan has originated and is  a trademarked slogan (property of The Ad Council). Now that we move closer to the 2020s  we need to focus on campaigning “Friends dont let Friends Drive High” because driving high seems to be more of an issue on the roads with youth today. Sober Girls Designated Drivers Vancouver’ did our research and one in four fatally injured drivers who tested positive for drugs are between the ages of 15 and 24, and almost half all the fatally injured drivers who tested positive for drugs were under the age of 35. Designated drivers are popular however groups often fail to use them properly. Often, there is a failure of those groups to designate the driver prior to making party arrangements and  they usually arrive in separate vehicles because of this. Even when a group does share a vehicle, it is not always the case that the designated driver remains sober and sober means not getting high or just have one drink. Some people believe cannabis wont have an effect on driving however this is not true until the body has had enough time to absorb the TCH there is no way to claim to be sober.Sober Girls Designated Drivers wants everyone to get a safe ride home no matter where you are because we want you make healthy choices for you, your loved ones and everyone else on the roads.
